How do I create a group?

Go to Groups and tap “New group”. Give it a name, pick a cover photo, and you're the organizer. A group can be anything — a pickleball crew, a book club, the parents in your kid's class.

How do I invite people?

Open the group, tap Invite, and share the link by text, email, or group chat. Anyone with the link can join — they don't need an account first. You can revoke a link any time from the Members page.

Someone sent me a link. How do I join?

Open the link and tap Join. If you're not signed in yet, create an account first and you'll land straight in the group. You can also paste an invite link or code on the Groups page.

Can I create an event, or only the admin?

Anyone in the group can create an event — members are never blocked from proposing one. Open the group and tap “New event”. If the admin has auto-publish on, it goes live right away. If it's off, the event is still created; it just sits pending until an admin approves it, and then everyone gets notified.

What does “minimum to run” mean?

It's the number of people you need for the event to actually happen — four for doubles pickleball, say. Once enough people say Count me in, the event flips to “It's on” and everyone gets told. Set it to 0 for open events that happen no matter what, like a town hall.

What's the difference between the minimum and the capacity?

The minimum is the floor — the event runs once you hit it. The capacity (max) is the ceiling. There's usually room for more people than the minimum, so keep saying Count me in even after it's on. Once capacity fills, extra RSVPs go to the waitlist.

How do recurring events work?

When you create an event you can repeat it weekly or biweekly for a set number of weeks. The group page shows the whole run as one card with date chips — tap a date to see and RSVP to that occurrence. You can leave a single date without leaving the rest.

Can people join just part of a session?

Yes. When you create an event you can split it into back-to-back time slots — 12–1 and 1–2, for example. Each slot has its own headcount, its own minimum, and its own waitlist, so people join only the part they can make.

Can I change an event after it's published?

Yes. The person who created it and the group admins can edit it. On the event page, Organizer controls let you change the time, location, capacity, and even the minimum to run — with the option to apply the change to future dates in a series.

What does the green “Reserved” badge mean?

It means the court, field, or room is actually booked. Any group member can update the reservation status and add a confirmation number or note — usually the organizer does it, but it helps when several people can call the venue.

How do I poll the group on which date works?

When you create an event, choose the date poll option instead of a fixed time and add two or more date options. The event shows as a poll: members tick every date that works for them and see who else voted. The organizer picks the winner, and a group admin publishes it — the winning date becomes the real event, everyone gets notified, and the other options disappear.

How do I change the date or time of an event?

Open the event and use Organizer controls — the creator and group admins can change the start and end time. For a recurring series you can apply the change to just that date or to future dates too. Everyone RSVP'd gets a notification about the update, and their RSVPs carry over.

I can't make the time. Can I suggest a different one?

Yes — use “Suggest a time change” on the event. The organizer sees the suggestion on the event page with a badge and can accept it or keep the original. If it's accepted, the event moves and everyone is notified.

What do the RSVP buttons mean?

Count me in — you're going and you count toward the headcount. Maybe — you're interested but not counted yet. Count me out — you're not coming, and the group stops nudging you about that event.

Can I bring someone who isn't in the group?

Yes. On the event, add write-in guests. They count toward the headcount just like members, so the minimum and the capacity stay accurate.

How does the waitlist work?

When an event is at capacity, new RSVPs join the waitlist in order. If somebody drops out, the next person is promoted automatically and notified — nobody has to babysit the list.

Where do the headcount numbers come from?

Tap the headcount on an event to see the breakdown: confirmed RSVPs, write-in guests, and the waitlist. Events with no cap just show how many are going instead of a ratio.

Why should I fill out my profile?

Your activities and self-ratings power the Connections section in each group: balanced matchups for rated sports, and shared-interest groupings for everything else. Without them you're invisible to both.

In a group's Connections section, Count Me In builds balanced teams from the self-ratings of the people going, using a snake draft so the sides come out even. Similar interests shows activities two or more members share, so it's easy to spot the next thing to organize.

Only people who share a group with you, and they see a compact card — your name, photo, and activities. Contact details like your phone and payment handles are never shown to other members.

Event reminders about 24 hours ahead, headcount nudges when an event is one person short, a “it's on” alert when the minimum is reached, waitlist promotions, weather heads-ups, and a prompt after an event to plan the next one. Group admins can see the full schedule from the group page.

How do I get push notifications on my phone?

Add Count Me In to your home screen, then tap Enable notifications on the Groups page. On iPhone you have to add it to the home screen first — Safari won't send push from a browser tab.

How do I get someone's attention in the discussion?

Type @ in a discussion post and pick a member from the list. They get a notification right away, and tapping it opens the group discussion at that exact comment. You can only mention active members of that group.

Am I going to get spammed?

No. Nudges are capped — a headcount nudge fires at most twice per event, and the come-back nudge at most once every 15 days. RSVP'ing Count me out stops the nudges for that event.

Should member events auto-publish?

Your call — and either way, members can always propose events. With auto-publish on, a member's event goes live immediately, best for active, trusted groups. With it off, nothing is blocked: the event is created and waits in pending for you to approve or decline, and you get a notification. Change the setting in the group's settings.
